Central to Hong Kong Housing Society’s (HKHS) philosophy is a commitment to innovation and evolution, positioning themselves as a dynamic "housing laboratory" dedicated to finding new housing solutions for the community. In line with this mission, our design for their latest office takes on a forward-thinking approach, integrating cutting-edge technology and versatile, multi-function rooms that improves the way staff collaborate and engage.
Undertaken amidst the challenges of the pandemic, this project presented significant considerations on navigating such unprecedented times. Integration of technology involved implementing facial recognition and temperature-checking door entry systems. A robot with it’s own built-in docking station designed at the reception provides visitors with information and simultaneously weaves around the office, sanitizing the entire floor.
Other state of the art technology include a new room booking system accessible via phone & web, touch panels in conference rooms that provide different scene settings, wired and wireless presentation, and a voice detection camera that tracks and follows the speaker while presenting. Switchable glass is also integrated at conference rooms, giving users the option of added privacy. Moveable partitions offer the choice of creating bigger spaces for training and larger events.
